Organization Goals and Objectives
The foundation was created to educate and preserve American natural and cultural history. The goals are to research, document, and publish printed materials and electronic media that portray American history, traditions, and values. The objective is to enhance education for individuals and provide interpretive resources for educators.
The founders have a broad spectrum of education and professional experience to provide the basis for ongoing research and publication. One founder has the following background: university instructor for cultural and environmental interpretation; published a book and journal articles; created interpretive trail signage of the San Gabriel Mountain resort era which documented the Deer Park Lodge resort; coordinated the Greater Los Angeles Nature Center Conferences between 2003-2010; seminar leader at environmental interpretation conferences and served two terms on the board of directors of the National Association for Interpretation; naturalist and supervisor at city/wilderness park developing and delivering education programs; lead wildlife habitat studies for 18 years; completed multiple college degrees. The other founder’s background includes B.A. Economics, B.S. Computer Science, college minors in Psychology, History, Statistics, and Literature; published wildlife photographs for newspaper and journal articles; produced promotion videos for nature center events; participated in wildlife habitat studies for 11 years.
